Freelance Graphic Designer for FGS

Creating a Brand Identity for the Federation of Genealogical Societies' Annual Conference

As a freelance graphic designer, I had the opportunity to create a logo and brand guidelines for the Federation of Genealogical Societies' annual family history conference in Washington DC. My client had specific guidelines for the design, including incorporating an illustration of the nation's capital to reflect the conference theme of "Come home to our Washington DC" and incorporating the original FGS logo. Additionally, I had to ensure that the logo adhered to the FGS brand standards in terms of colors and typefaces.

I provided my client with a comprehensive set of brand guidelines that included detailed information on the colors, typefaces and logo usage. The deliverables included the logo files in various orientations such as a primary vertical logo, a secondary horizontal logo and a pictorial mark to cater to different usage scenarios. The final design effectively reflected the theme of the conference and adhered to the FGS brand standards.
